Wednesday Night MLS: Galaxy friendly, CCL, and US Open Cup

The LA Galaxy take part in their final match of the Guinness International Champions Cup friendly tournament this afternoon taking on AC Milan.

This past weekend the LA Galaxy defeated Juventus 3-1 at Dodger Stadium, playing a soccer match on the baseball field where the Dodgers play their home baseball games. As a result they conclude their run through the Guinness International Champions Cup in a few hours (3:30 Pacific, broadcast on Fox Soccer) taking on AC Milan in the third place game of the championship round.

Meanwhile, the other tournament set to impact that Galaxy schedule kicked off yesterday. The first matchday of the 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League started yesterday with Toluca defeated Caledonia and Club Tijuana drawing level with El Salvador's CD Luis Angel Firpo.

Major League Soccer gets in on the action tonight, with the slumping Montreal Impact hosting the rebounding San Jose Earthquakes. Sporting Kansas City starts out on the road in Nicaragua with Real Esteli hosting last year's US Open Cup winners.

Speaking of the US Open Cup, that's also part of the action tonight with the Chicago Fire hosting DC United and Real Salt Lake hosting the Portland Timbers. The winners move on to the finals of the 2013 US Open Cup.

Plenty of MLS teams in action this Wednesday with none of it counting toward MLS standings. LA gets three rest days before their next MLS tilt in Dallas Sunday, while the rest of the teams in action this Wednesday go again on Saturday. That's except for the Portland Timbers who have the weekend off.

Lots of action for a Tuesday night, with only the LA Galaxy friendly against AC Milan falling into the meaningless category.
