Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzalez might be the only LA Galaxy to take the pitch for the MLS All Stars tonight, but LA will end up with a total of four All Stars after Juninho was named to the inactive roster this morning. Robbie Keane was already on the inactive roster, scratched due to his hip flexor injury and replaced with Landon Donovan.
The full list of inactive players added today is as follows:
Osvaldo Alonso (Seattle Sounders FC), Tally Hall (Houston Dynamo), George John (FC Dallas), Juninho (LA Galaxy), Justin Mapp (Montreal Impact), Javier Morales (Real Salt Lake), Jamison Olave (New York Red Bulls), Donovan Ricketts (Portland Timbers), Diego Valeri (Portland Timbers), Rodney Wallace (Portland Timbers)
The inactive players list doesn't have an impact on the match itself, but the collective bargaining agreement calls for a 32 man roster to be named every year. Several players have All-Star relative incentives written into their contract, so for Juninho this could mean a pay bonus.
Robbie Keane and Tim Cahill were already on the inactive roster after being replaced by Landon Donovan and Jack McInerney respectively. The gameday roster has twenty players on it.
