The LA Galaxy have announced their starting lineup against the Houston Dynamo, and for the most part it's exactly what was expected. Jose Villarreal and Charlie Rugg start at the forward spots, as Robbie Keane and Jack McBean recover from injuries. Gyasi Zardes is available off the bench. The Galaxy have not been held scoreless by Houston in eight straight MLS matches.
Good news for the Galaxy is while it might be youngsters up top, the midfield line is the best possible combination with Donovan and Magee at the wide positions and Sarvas and Juninho in the middle. With Keane out, Landon Donovan is wearing the captain's armband. Colin Clark isn't even in the eighteen, as his lack of form is pushing him further down the depth chart.
LA Galaxy subs: Leonardo, Garcia, Zardes, Rowe, Stephens, Meyer, Jimenez
In the back LA gets Carlo Cudicini back, but Todd Dunivant remains out of commission. In his place once again is Greg Cochrane, with no replacement on the bench (Bryan Gual is not in the 18). Were something to happen to Cochrane Meyer would have to come in and play left back, or Leonardo come in and have A.J. DeLaGarza slide out there.
