The LA Galaxy have released their starting lineup for their match tonight against the Philadelphia Union (4:30 Time Warner Cable Sportnet), and it features some returns as well as some absences.
On the back line, Todd Dunivant returns after struggling with injury since Champions League. However, the Galaxy aren't going with the classic back line. Sean Franklin starts on the bench, likely nursing a knock, and Tommy Meyer starts in his roster spot. Formation-wise, Arena has pushed DeLaGarza out to right back, with Meyer at Center Back with Gonzalez. Notable that Meyer has jumped in front of Leonardo in the depth chart.
The midfield is pretty much the same as has been, with Jimenez and Garcia available off the bench. Michael Stephens isn't in the 18.
Up top the Galaxy are going with returning captain Robbie Keane and Jose Villarreal. Gyasi Zardes was hinted at, but he's being held with an ankle injury. Zardes mentioned post match after the Vancouver game that he rolled his ankle at the beginning of his time on the pitch but played on it. Seems the injury caught up to him. Charlie Rugg is available off the bench.
LA Galaxy subs: Rowe, Leonardo, Franklin, Cochrane, Garcia, Jimenez, Rugg
This is Landon Donovan's 200th career MLS appearance with the LA Galaxy
