LA Galaxy announce reserve league schedule

The LA Galaxy announced their reserve league schedule yesterday. It includes two primetime matches, both against local opponents: LA Blues and Chivas USA.

USA TODAY Sports

The LA Galaxy announced their reserve league schedule yesterday; it is posted in below with the home matches in bold. April 15th is the first home reserve date, but interestingly it appears the local derby matches are going to get evening starts. I imagine these will take place at the Track and Field Stadium, it seems a bit much to staff the soccer stadium for a reserve match.

DAY DATE OPPONENT TIME (PT) LOCATION
Sunday April 7 at L.A. Blues (USL Pro) 4 p.m. Titan Stadium - Cal State Fullerton
Monday April 15 vs. Seattle Sounders FC 11 a.m. The Home Depot Center - University Field #1
Sunday April 28 at Real Salt Lake 10 a.m. America First Field
Tuesday May 7 vs. L.A. Blues (USL Pro) 7 p.m. The Home Depot Center
Sunday July 14 at Portland Timbers 6 p.m. Jeld-Wen Field
Monday July 22 at Chivas USA 11 a.m. The Home Depot Center - University Field #1
Sunday July 28 at Colorado Rapids 9 a.m. Dick's Sporting Goods Park - Field 20
Sunday Sept. 1 vs. San Jose Earthquakes 12 p.m. The Home Depot Center - University Field #1
Sunday Sept. 8 vs. Colorado Rapids 12 p.m. The Home Depot Center - University Field #1
Monday Oct. 7 vs. Chivas USA 7 p.m. TBD

The Galaxy reserves went 6-3-1 last season, winning the Western division. Jack McBean led the reserves with five goals, Jose Villarreal finished second with three goals.

The first reserve match at home, against the Seattle Sounders, happens two days after an away match in Dallas. Chivas is hosting the Colorado Rapids that weekend, so that's some surprising scheduling. The September matches against the Quakes and Rapids follow senior team matches, as do the July away matches.
