Mike Magee wins Player of the Week honors

Mike Magee has won MLS Player of the Week as voted on by the North American Soccer Reporters for the first week of the 2013 season. This is the second time in his career Magee has won Player of the Week. Magee was also tops in MLS Fantasy points, tops in our Match Impact Rating, and currently leads the MLS Golden Boot race.

Magee scored in the 38', 68', and 74' mark, as the Galaxy continued to pull away from the Chicago Fire. He and Robbie Keane benefitted from two Chicago Fire injury scratches on the defensive line, but all three of Magee's goals showed skillful finishing with the left foot.

All of his goals had to be launched, with beating Sean Johnson never a given. None of the goals were walked in. The only thing cheap about the hat trick could be Magee's attempt at a summersault celebrating his third goal.
