LA Galaxy midfielder Dan Keat has been called up by New Zealand for their upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against New Caledonia and the Solomon Islands. Keat and the All Whites begin the final round of Oceania Qualifying with an away game to New Caledonia Friday, then host the Solomon Islands on Tuesday.

Keat, who has been in Caledonia since Tuesday, has battled injuries his entire career. He has made one regular season appearance for LA so far in 2012, while also playing once in the CONCACAF Champions League before undergoing surgery on May 31 to repair damage to the meniscus in his right knee. Keat returned to the team in July and was in the Reserve League game against Chivas USA on August 6.

In what might be a corresponding move to place Christian Wilhelmsson on the senior roster, the Galaxy also announced today that Kyle Nakazawa has been placed on the Season Ending Injury list with Back Spasms. The 24 year old from Torrance came up with the Union initially, and was acquired by the Galaxy in February.
