As noted below, Mike Magee and Michael Stephens have been suspended for one match and fined an undisclosed amount due to their actions in last Saturday's match against the Houston Dynamo. This means they will both miss the Galaxy's next match, Sunday June 17th against the Portland Timbers.
In both cases, the players were shown a yellow card on the pitch. The disciplinary ruled that Stephens 46' foul on Adam Moffat, just one minute after entering the match, was endangering his opponent. It was ruled that Magee's dissent toward referee Silviu Petrescu, including throwing the ball in his direction, was aggravated.
This means the Galaxy will be without Magee, Stephens, and Hector Jimenez against Portland. Jimenez was given a two game suspension for his red card earning tackle against San Jose's Steven Beitashour.
It's worth noting that for the second straight match, David Beckham was quite critical of the refs in his post match comments. It's not unprecedented in the states for athletes to be fined by their leagues for comments critical of refereeing. No fines have been handed down as of yet.
