LA Galaxy To Be Broadcast On KDOC This Season

My apologies for getting to this a month late, but better late than never; right? Anyhow, about a month ago the Galaxy and Time Warner quietly announced that despite the 10 year $55 million deal the Galaxy signed back in November, the Time Warner local sports channel wouldn't launch until next Laker season. As a result, KDOC will be handling the local broadcasts for the LA Galaxy. Since Scott French got the story, let's let him tell you about it:

GALAXY: KDOC steps in for Time Warner - Soccer Blog - ESPN Los Angeles
The early winner in the Galaxy's 10-year contract with Time Warner Cable's regional sports networks? Orange County's independent KDOC/Channel 56.

This is actually good news for Galaxy fans for a few reasons. First of, no need to worry about the day's Galaxy match being tape delayed because Fox Sports overbooked. Secondly, it means that there will be Galaxy matches available over the air in English and HD this year. KDOC handles a number of local sports teams, including Chivas USA, Anaheim Ducks, and LA Sparks.

Anyhow, here's a list of the games KDOC will be broadcasting this year. The play by play man will be Mark Rogondino, same as Fox Sports, and he'll be joined by Cobi Jones doing the color commentary:

March 10 vs. Real Salt Lake, 7:30 p.m.

March 18 vs. D.C. United, 4 p.m.
