The top two in the SB Nation MLS Power Rankings are pretty much locked in now, with San Jose and Kansas City the only clubs with a shot at the Supporter's Shield; although San Jose has it all but mathematically locked up. The LA Galaxy losing to Real Salt Lake on Saturday didn't hurt them too much in the rankings, still in the "don't panic" zone of clubs that will be in the playoffs with a punchers chance of the Cup.

LA are ranked sixth in the current poll, losing points but not losing any position from last week's poll. The Sounders and RSL both moved up in points and in the rankings after their wins over the weekend, dropping the Chicago Fire two spots even though the Fire defeated the New York Red Bulls over the weekend. The Red Bulls, like the Galaxy, didn't fall too far despite the loss.

It feels like the power rankings are starting to solidify, the teams that have already qualified for the playoffs are going to remain in the safe category, and those labeled pretenders will remain so.
