Early this morning, 2 am pacific time, Fox Sports reported that the LA Galaxy had offered David Beckham a one year contract extension, worth $8.9 million. This was done in the wake of QPR's promise to give Beckham "Love, care, and attention" made by owner Tony Fernandes. The story goes that David Beckham is keen to be on London's Olympic squad, and that this move would help facilitate that dream.

Problem is, while I was able to find other sources for Beckham to QPR or Beckham in the Olympics, Fox Sports seems to be the only news agency reporting anything about a Galaxy extension. And the article lists it to be "on similar terms" to his original contract, but then gives no source, no further details. In fact the rest of the article is about QPR.

This in from Sky Sports:

We're told LA Galaxy have offered David Beckham new one-year contract. No talks about it expected until end of MLS season.

Which has made the retweet rounds, but still no idea who has been telling people. MLS is terribly tight lipped about contract issues. They've also talked about it over at the hub

I'm going to poke around and see what comes up, but what say you? Are you on board for one more season of Becks? Even if he is trying to get on the London Olympic squad?
