Might seem irrelevant, but the Columbus Crew built the first soccer specific stadium in MLS, and laid the blueprint I discussed early in the week of building smaller stadiums in the suburbs. The article talks about how the sole advantage is it's easy parking and access to freeways, but when it comes to game day atmosphere, there's nothing to do. I always site the Off Campus pub as my example of HDC having life outside the grounds, but having never set foot inside, I might be completely wrong.
