(or how to sneak in a Freddy Adu post if you're a Galaxy blogger)
With Soccer by Ives announcing that Philadelphia has picked up the prodigal son that is Freddy Adu, it's time to update the MLS Allocation order:
Chivas USA | |
Houston Dynamo | |
Toronto FC | |
Chicago Fire | |
Sporting Kansas City | |
Seattle Sounders FC | |
Columbus Crew | |
New York Red Bulls | |
Real Salt Lake | |
San Jose Earthquakes | |
LA Galaxy | |
FC Dallas | |
Colorado Rapids | |
Vancouver Whitecaps | Jay DeMerit |
Portland Timbers | Kenny Cooper |
DC United | Charlie Davies |
New England Revolution | Benny Feilharber |
Philadelphia Union | Freddy Adu |
Just a friendly reminder of how the MLS process works for players with any time with the USMNT coming back to play in MLS. Word is, Adu wanted a DP contract to go with Chivas, Chivas balked, so Philly stepped up with a non DP contract.
The Galaxy have their USMNT star in Landon Donovan, and they've been able to develop talent for the USMNT, with Edson Buddle getting the callup again and Omar Gonzalez getting called up in the past. And really, that's what a top club should be doing, developing the next generation.
