Let's take a look at what's come in on the Teletype (Much like this site's name, I'm sorry if this allusion to Hollywood's past makes no sense to you):
Motagua has taken the home leg in their series against Municipal to the tune of 4-0. Motagua got goals from JERRY BENGSTON, ODIS BORJAS, AMADO GUEVARA, and PANDO. This gives Municipal quite a hill to climb in their home leg on August 4th.

In the other Preliminary Round match affecting Group A and the LA Galaxy, Morelia defeated Tempete 5-0. I did warn that it wasn't going to be close. Morelia, in their home leg of the tie, got goals from JOEL HUIQUI, MIGUEL SABAH, JOAH ROJAS, ANGEL SEPULVEDA, and JAIME LOZANO. Four of the five goals came after halftime, and the first after halftime goal was a penalty scored by Sabah. Four goals in fifteen minutes is not exactly normal, but it is quite scary.

LANDON DONOVAN practiced with the team on Thursday, and was quite spry; reports are he put in some impressive outside the box strikes. This is good news since the Galaxy know for certain they'll be without DAVID BECKHAM and CHRIS BIRCHALL in Vancouver. Possibly because he knew he couldn't play Saturday, Beckham went the full 90 in the MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday.

"The problem is with me, it doesn’t matter how old I am, once I am on the field, I don’t want to come off, and I’ll always be like that."
-- MLS All-Star David Beckham (LA Galaxy), after playing 90 minutes in the All-Star Game, the only player to do so.
