LA Galaxy's Donovan Ricketts Suffers Major Injury

Los Angeles Galaxy Goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts went down in the first half of the LA Galaxy's 0 - 0 draw with San Jose, after Khari Stephenson smashed into him. In the 21st minute, Ricketts went to punch away a Ryan Johnson cross when he collided with Khari Stephenson, with both players looking worse for wear. The doctor's report is that Ricketts has suffered a fractured Left Ulna, one of the two long bones in the forearm.

Donovan Ricketts will undergo surgery on Tuesday at the Surgery Center of the Pacific in Santa Monica. He's expected to be out 4-6 weeks. This is quite a setback for the Galaxy keeper who has missed several games already this season with injuries and international duty.

Because Josh Saunders also had to leave Saturday's game, in his case due to a Red Card, this most likely means the debut of Brian Perk. Perk will likely also play with a Galaxy reserve squad taking on the LA Blues in the US Open Cup on Tuesday.
