It was forty minutes to kickoff, and all through the centre; not a creature was stirring, not even a mentor. Then the keepers arrived, to warm up with care; they didn't drop one ball, they wouldn't dare. The outfielders were snuggled on their locker room chairs, while visions of goals danced just above their hairs. Hey get up, said the keeper with a big handed clap; the fans they were stirring, coming out of their nap.
Out on the pitch, arose such a clatter; the journos rushed to their laptops to see what's the matter. Out came the team, on a straight dash; they want to keep playing, unlike the San Jose Clash. The moon wasn't out, but the floodlights did glow, and there was a glisten to the players below.
Then what to my wondering eyes should appear? It was David Beckham, and the team draped in game gear.
