Good news for Gordo, bad news for Galaxy fans.

LA Galaxy forward Alan Gordon has been called up by U.S. Men's National Team manager Jurgen Klinsmann to feature in the 2015 Gold Cup knockout rounds.
Despite just one cap for the national team, it's hard to argue Gordon hasn't deserved a look based on merit. With five goals for the Galaxy this season including Saturday's game winner vs. Club America, the 33-year old grizzled veteran brings a unique skill-set of hold-up play, aerial ability and clutch finishing off the bench, all of which the US could use in Altidore's absence.
(In comparison, New England Revolution striker Juan Agudelo, the other likely option to replace Altidore, hasn't looked particularly well as of late and plays too similar to Aron Johannsson to justify a call up)
What does this mean for the Galaxy? Gordon will miss Friday's match vs. San Jose, and probably the July 25th road matchup vs. the Houston Dynamo.
