Gyasi Zardes tonight with his goal just before halftime pulled even with Diego Fagundez for the most goals scored by an MLS Homegrown player in a single season. It's a mark that shows the continued growth and success of the Homegrown player program.
Many dismissing Zardes b/c "his teammates make it easy for him." That's a strength. Knowing how to play w/ great players is a skill. #USMNT

Watching Gyasi Zardes play tonight is a night and day difference from the way he played last year, when he too often found himself occupying the same space as his partner forward. Tonight with Alan Gordon he ended up on the end of another Landon Donovan assist, it wasn't that Donovan did all the work. Zardes has gotten himself in the right place to receive key passes and make good on them time and time again. The finishes haven't been tap-ins. The young man can flat out play the game of soccer.
