LA Galaxy II are unbeaten no more after a 0-3 defeat at the hands of Sacramento Republic FC on Sunday at the StubHub Center's Track and Field Stadium.
Republic FC got on the board first in the 33rd minute off of a corner kick. Max Alvarez' corner kick swung to the top of the area on the far post side and Rafael Garcia was unable to clear it with a header for Los Dos. Thomas Stewart then played a header to the center of the area off the deflection where Mickey Daly hit a backheel over his head that looped over Brian Rowe in the Galaxy II net.
Alvarez terrorized the Galaxy II defense on his own later in the 45th minute when he streaked past the last three defenders and then chipped Rowe who had charged off his line past the penalty spot. In the 75th minute, Republic FC added to the lead after Daniel Steres' clearance didn't make it out of the box after a deflection. Garcia was unable to play the ball after the deflection, struggling with the man he was marking and when he fell down, the ball was left on a platter for Dakota Collins who buried the loose ball.
