Robbie Keane had to come out of the LA Galaxy's loss to Portland Saturday in the 79th minute holding his hip and shaking his head. The initial word from Kyle Martino was hip issue, and Adam Serrano weighed in this afternoon with a non-update update:
Bruce Arena has no update on Robbie Keane, but says that it is a hip injury. @kylemartino said on #LAvPor broadcast that it was a hip issue.

The scuttlebutt is that at the Steve Nash Showdown, which Keane participated in, the Galaxy forward said a few weeks would be needed before he could return to action. However, with injury reporting the way it is these days any diagnosis will be on the QT, very hush hush.
If Keane is unable to go this weekend, that pushes the issue with Gyasi Zardes a bit. Of the three Homegrown forwards, Zardes has certainly seen the pitch most as of late. While some have called for him to rest and calm himself for a match or two, Arena might not want to throw two forwards up top who haven't seen much time lately.
With Landon Donovan still on Gold Cup duty, the club's relative inexperience at the forward position could be exposed in the upcoming weeks.
