The LA Galaxy are all set to take on the Portland Timbers, and after the midweek trade for David Junior Lopes or Chivas (there's an error on the starting 11 image, it's Lopes not Lopez) there's a shakeup in the starting 11. A.J DeLaGarza isn't on the game day roster, and starting in his place is Lopes. Also taking a rest is Edson Buddle, with Chad Barrett starting in his spot. Tommy Meyer starts, Andrew Boyens is on the bench. Landon Donovan and David Beckham are back on the pitch together for the first time in three matches.
If there can be such a thing as a must win match this early in the season, this would be it. Both the Galaxy and Timbers are struggling out of the gate, a victory could be a turn around moment. A defeat could be a backbreaker.
Portland's big offseason acquisition Franck Songo'o isn't starting but is available off the bench. Should be a good one.
