Robbie Keane has been ruled out of the Irish squad for their match tomorrow against Germany. It's being said that he aggravated a long standing achilles injury in a training ground challenge with Paul McShane

Sky Sports reported this morning that Robbie Keane has been ruled out of the Irish squad for their match tomorrow against Germany. It's being said that he aggravated a long standing achilles injury in a training ground challenge with Paul McShane earlier this week and has been unable to participate in full training.

The Irish Football Association expect him to be fit for the match against the Faroe Islands on Tuesday, so it doesn't appear to be that severe of an injury. Still, that's now the second Galaxy player ruled unfit for international play, and Christian Wilhelmsson is still recovering from his own injury.

That's not a good sign for the Galaxy's road match against San Jose. It might be best for everyone to rest the weary against the mighty Earthquakes. LA are already in the playoffs, better to have everyone ready to go later than to aggravate injuries now.
